Come Back

A few months ago, Lola taught Grace how to call a dog to come to her by snapping her fingers. She doesn't quite know how to make the snapping sound, but she definitely knows how to use the gesture. She goes around Lola's house snapping her fingers after Lucky dog, trying to get him to follow her.

We spent the day with the Augustines today which always means a good time. We had lunch at Macaroni Grill, one of my favorites, and then walked around the mall for a while. I was worried that we didn't have a stroller for Grace, but she probably enjoyed walking around like a big girl better than being stuck in a stroller anyway.

We came across a family, who had two little girls not much older than Grace also walking around, and she immediately ran towards them screaming with delight. Grace thought they were her new best friends.

Apparently, they didn't feel the same way because they continued to just walk on by. My poor baby stood there staring after them, snapping her fingers trying to get them to come back. It was heartbreaking.

This just reaffirms that when we go back to Jacksonville in a couple weeks, I need to really get serious about finding her some playmates her age.

Thankfully, the snub didn't seem to affect Grace at all. I think it was more painful for her mama. Immediately after that, she was right back to her happy self. And who wouldn't be happy when you're spending the day getting spoiled silly by Grandma and Grandpa Augustine?

When she wasn't eating it, she scribbled with a crayon during lunch.

She played with Grandma as soon as she was finished eating.

She drove a car,

rode a duck,

and even found a lucky penny while Grandma was at the register paying for her new Roxy outfits and shoes.

There is no denying that Grace is one lucky girl!
